The summer of 2011 saw temperatures in San Bernardino reaching extreme heights and public health officials issuing multiple heat warnings as temperatures soared to triple digits. San Bernardino, California air conditioning contractors urged people to contact them as soon as possible in the event of a malfunction, and said they would have special 24-hour service days when the temperatures rose. Officials warned against children and the elderly spending more than a few minutes outdoors, and said residents should take advantage of cool public buildings such as malls and libraries. A/C and heating contractors in San Bernardino said that while the summer heat creates tough working conditions, it’s their job to provide service to the city.
