A San Francisco-area Ikea store recently “went green,” by converting the current power system into solar power. The world's leading home furnishing retailer’s 68,000-square-foot building is the 11th Ikea building in the U.S. to go solar and additional conversions are underway. San Francisco air conditioning contractors are helping Gloria Solar, the U.S. operating group contracted for the job, hook up the 538-kW system. Once the San Francisco A/C and heating contractors get everything working the new system will produce approximately 760,300 kWh of clean electricity annually, the equivalent of reducing 578 tons of carbon dioxide or eliminating the emissions of 103 cars.
