A local Methodist Church has been feeling the heat ever since their air conditioner, valued at $2,000, was stolen. Jacksonville, Florida air conditioning contractors say this is a common phenomenon in which thieves steal unsecured units in order to sell their metal. The church said that though it has additional units, it would discuss with Jacksonville A/C and heating contractors how best to run the remaining units efficiently. Police investigating the theft said they have no leads to go on as there were no witnesses and no fingerprints left. The only clue they have is the testimony of a woman who lives near the church and claims she saw a dark green SUV stop at the church for a short time, though she’s not sure if they were involved in the theft.
