Police are searching for three people who they believe stole pipes and parts from an air conditioning unit at a local school. The three got away in a large green work van with a red ladder on top, after having taken several air conditioner condensers and a significant amount of copper plumbing. Warren, Michigan air conditioning contractors say homes, schools, and businesses have been targeted lately for copper theft, specifically from air conditioning units because they are so vulnerable and exposed. Experienced A/C and heating contractors from Warren say the best thing to do to prevent theft is to install security cages around the units.
