Buffalo has seen record temperatures this year, with the sun shining down so brightly even the water didn’t offer much of an escape. Lake Erie’s water temperature reached 80 degrees in late July and August, setting a record, while some homeowners’ pools had temperatures reaching in the 90s. Air conditioning contractors in Buffalo, New York were on call helping residents fight the heat when their units weren’t working during the record-breaking summer. The average July temperature was 75 degrees but August brought relief with a 71-degree average. Buffalo a/c and heating contractors say, however, from their experience summer temperatures are no indication of the future and it’s anyone’s guess if it will be a mild winter or not.
