Columbus health officials recently issued an advisory calling on people to stay indoors and drink lots of water. The advisory came after temperatures reached 100 degrees and felt like more with the humidity. Officials recommended staying indoors and contacting local Columbus, Ohio air conditioning contractors immediately if anything seemed wrong with the units, drinking fluids but minimizing caffeine and alcohol, eating light meals, wearing light, loose-fitting clothing and not leaving children or pets in parked cars. Air conditioning and heating contractors in Columbus said that should the need for repairs arise, the best thing to do is to stay cool in movie theaters, libraries, malls, museums and other public locations.
