Garland residents were surprised to discover this summer that being in the state with the most wind power doesn’t mean you’ll have any cool breezes. In addition, Texans couldn’t even rely on the wind for proper power as it blew at the wrong times. Garland, Texas air conditioning contractors say the State even had to ready four gas-powered units that had been stored away because of the lack of wind. A/C and heating contractors in Garland also say the hot State is facing new EPA regulations against coal-fired units leaving residents to hope things will cool down in the future, otherwise the region will experience black outs during hot summers.
